Your Telehealth Visit with Agape Mental Health Center
Telehealth, or a “Virtual Visit”, allows you to meet with your therapist from the comfort of your home or another private location. Follow the steps below, and if you have trouble getting connected, we are here to help.
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
✓ Choose a quiet, private place.
Find a comfortable space where you can talk openly without interruptions. Good lighting will help your therapist see you clearly.
✓ Get your device ready.
You may use a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer with a camera and microphone. Make sure your device is charged or plugged in and connected to the internet.
HOW TO JOIN YOUR TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENT
1. Start 10–15 minutes early.
Give yourself a few extra minutes to get comfortable and make sure everything is working.
2. Open the appointment link in your email.
Before your appointment, you will receive an email with a link to join your telehealth session.
Open the email and click the link.
OR
Sign in through the Patient Portal:
Go to therapyportal.com/p/agapemental38485 and log in using your email/username and password.
Find your scheduled appointment and follow the instructions to join.
3. Allow access to your camera and microphone.
Your phone, tablet, or computer may ask for permission to use your camera and microphone. Select “Allow.”
4. Check your camera.
Make sure you can see yourself clearly on the screen. Place your device on a steady surface when possible and position it so your therapist can easily see your face.
5. Complete the check-in steps.
When entering your appointment, you will be asked to take a picture as part of the check-in process. Follow the instructions shown on your screen.
6. Join your appointment.
Once you join the meeting room, stay on the appointment screen and your therapist will join in the virtual meeting room.
TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL VISIT
Use headphones if they help you hear better or provide more privacy. Silence phone notifications and close other apps that may use your camera or microphone. Keep your device in one place during the session when possible. Your therapist may also ask for your current physical location at the beginning of the visit for safety purposes.
HAVING TROUBLE CONNECTING?
That’s okay. Technology does not always cooperate!
Try reopening your appointment link, checking your internet connection, making sure your camera and microphone are allowed, closing other video apps, or restarting your device.
